Nintendo of America has announced that it will hold a Nintendo Treehouse: Live dedicated to Nintendo Switch 2 games. The event will take place on April 3 and 4 at 10 AM EDT.
In the official announcement post, Nintendo states the following: “Join us on April 3rd and April 4th at 7 a.m. PT each day for a Nintendo Treehouse: Live | Nintendo Switch 2 presentation featuring hands-on gameplay of Nintendo Switch 2 games!”
Nintendo will hold its Nintendo Direct focused on the Nintendo Switch 2 tomorrow, April 2. The event will be approximately 60-minutes long and will start at 9 AM EDT. Last week, Nintendo also aired a Direct focused entirely on games for the original Nintendo Switch.
The Direct featured new footage for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and also had announcements for games in 2026, such as Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Rhythm Heaven: Groove. These games will also be available for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo initially revealed the Nintendo Switch 2 via a “first-look trailer” on January 16. The trailer showcases the original Switch before transforming into the new hardware. As previous rumors implied, the console has a new stand, new magnetic joycons, a mysterious new button, and a new dock and handheld base.
Further, the trailer teases the next entry in the Mario Kart franchise right at the end. The trailer ends with the following clarification on new Nintendo Switch 2 games and backwards compatibility:
“Plays Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, as well as Nintendo Switch games. Nintendo Switch 2 plays both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. Certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Details will be shared on the Nintendo website at a later date.”
Lastly, the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct will take place tomorrow, April 2. The event will last for approximately 60-minutes.
