Following the announcement of Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream at yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, X (Twitter) User @BoTalksGames spotted that the post containing the announcement is now Nintendo’s most liked post of all time. When looking through the history of the company’s posts on the platform, the only tweet close in likes is the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement.

The Switch 2’s tweet garnered 385,000 likes, while Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream has raked in 396,000 likes already. Nintendo of America’s post for the game, while not near its most liked tweet, still sits at over 182,000 likes today. There’s a very clear excitement in the air for this announcement, which is no surprise considering this is the first time the series has received a new game in over 10 years.

On the topic of likes and interactions, another major Nintendo announcement, Rhythm Heaven Groove, also proved to be a hit, with the official Nintendo account’s post receiving over 235,000 likes.

Nintendo describes Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream as the following:

The Tomodachi Life series is back with its first brand new entry in over ten years. Create your own Mii characters based on yourself, friends, family – anyone! – and watch them live their lives on an island out at sea. Get involved with their relationships and experience all the weird and wonderful ways these Mii characters interact. You may even drop in on their dreams!

Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream is due out on Nintendo Switch in 2026. Next week, Nintendo will host a Nintendo Direct presentation focused on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console.
