During today’s Nintendo Direct, Konami and developer M2 Co., LTD announced the Gradius ORIGINS collection. The game is planned to be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X, and PC via Steam on August 7th.
This collection of games brings back 17 versions of six arcade classics: GRADIUS, SALAMANDER, LIFE FORCE, GRADIUS II, GRADIUS III, and SALAMANDER 2. Furthermore, it also includes the long-awaited GRADIUS III AM Show version and a brand new entry: SALAMANDER III.
Players must pilot their ship through dangerous enemy lines, upgrade their weapons, and master the intense, fast-paced gameplay that is the hallmark of the GRADIUS series. New gameplay features include the ability to rewind, save anywhere, reduced hit detection, invincible mode and more.
The new Training Mode also lets players adjust settings like restart points, loop counts, and power-up statuses to help hone their skills to perfection. There’s also a gallery feature that includes music from the game, a variety of images from each title, and much, much more.

Other major announcements from this presentation included Patapon 1+2 Replay, EVERYBODY’S GOLF: Hot Shots, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and more. Once again, Gradius ORIGINS will release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X, and PC via Steam on August 7th.
