Aniplex and Crunchyroll announced that the companies have jointly invested in and established HAYATE Inc. HAYATE will plan, develop, and produce anime content for the Crunchyroll streaming service.
HAYATE will be using Aniplex’s production know-how over the years to produce series with a wide range of creators and studios. Crunchyroll’s development, marketing, and distribution capabilities will also be leveraged for company operations.
The staff of HAYATE will be made up of employees from both Aniplex and Crunchyroll. The company will be held by chairman and CEO Masanori Miyake and president and COO Leo Watanabe. Miyake and Watanabe are both from Aniplex.

At the present, fans can subscribe to the Crunchyroll Game Vault service for additional benefits outside the streaming service. Crunchyroll recently added Ys I Chronicles and Destiny’s Princess: A War Story, A Love Story. Ys II Chronicles will head to Crunchyroll Game Vault later this month. Moreover, all three titles have touch screen controls on Android and iOS, and Ys I & II Chronicles has full controller support.
In November 2023, Crunchyroll announced a partnership with various developers and publishers to bring premium mobile games to Crunchyroll Game Vault. Games will be available without ads or in-app purchases, allowing Mega and Ultimate Fan members to fully enjoy mobile titles without distractions. This is in addition to Crunchyroll’s vast streaming library of anime with popular series like SPY x FAMILY, Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan, and One Piece.
