    Kaiju No. 8 Mission Recon Compilation Film is Coming to the US and Canada

    Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment announced the Kaiju No. 8 Mission Recon compilation film will come to theaters in the US and Canada starting April 13. Event-style screenings will be held on April 13, 14, and 6, and it will be available in Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub.

    In Japan, the Kaiju No. 8 Mission Recon compilation film will be available for three weeks only in participating theaters starting March 28. Moreover, Kaiju No. 8 Mission Recon will feature the new “Hoshina’s Day Off” original episode. Yūto Tsukuda is the writer for the compilation film’s new episode, and Yuichiro Kido is the scriptwriter. OneRepublic performs the ending theme song “Invincible” for the new original episode.

    Afterward, Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 anime will premiere in July 2025. The anime will air on TV Tokyo and affiliate channels, and it will stream worldwide on Crunchyroll. As previously announced, Kōki Uchiyama joins the anime series as Gen Harumi in the second season. Before the Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 anime premieres, a compilation film will cover the entire first season.

    All 12 episodes of Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 are streaming right now on Crunchyroll with English subs and dubs, along with several other language options. Crunchyroll describes the anime as follows:

    In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka’s promise to join Mina and protect humanity.
