The official website for the anime adaptation of Naru Narumi’s Watari-kun’s ***** is About to Collapse manga confirmed its July 2025 premiere. The anime’s main cast and staff were also announced, and a new key visual was unveiled.

Takashi Naoya directs the anime at Staple Entertainment, and Matsuo Asami is the assistant director. Tatsuya Takahashi is in charge of the series scripts alongside scriptwriter Tetsuya Yamada. Shōko Yasuda is the character designer, and she’s a co-chief animation director alongside Yukiyo Komito and Taeko Ōgi. Nonoka Suzuki is designing the costumes, and Chie Yamazaki is designing the props.
Narumi launched the Watari-kun’s ***** is About to Collapse manga in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine in August 2014, before moving its serialization to Monthly Young Magazine in November 2015. The manga ran until September 2023, and the 16th and final volume released in November 2023.
