Ubisoft has announced that the company is planning for Assassin’s Creed Shadows to support the Steam Deck at launch. The game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 20.

The announcement comes courtesy of the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter/X account. The message states the following:

Many of you have been asking about Steam Deck. We are happy to say that we are supporting Steam Deck at launch and are currently awaiting the level of classification from Valve. More info to come soon.”

Recently, Ubisoft announced that they will release a prequel manga for Assassin’s Creed Shadows in Japan on March 20. The manga, titled Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Iga no Monogatari (Tale of Iga), will release worldwide at a later date. Reguje will illustrate it.

Ubisoft describes the manga as follows: “Discover the official prequel of the game. Follow the story a young Assassin apprentice, as she fights against the growing presence of the Templars order in Japan.”

It also confirmed that Shadows will depart from the traditional season pass model. There will be no early launch for players who purchase a specific edition of the game. Additionally, the “Claws of Awaji” expansion will be available for free to those who pre-order Shadows.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 20. Initially it would’ve released on November 15, however, it was then delayed to February 14. Now it will release one month later, on March 20. The game will feature support for the Steam Deck at launch.
