Kadokawa announced the TV anime adaptation for Eri Ejima’s Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games manga will premiere in 2025. A teaser visual and the main cast of the anime were revealed, alongside character descriptions and visuals for the two main characters.

Ikumi Hasegawa stars as Aya Mitsuki, an ordinary girl who got into Kuromi Girls’ Academy with a scholarship. Aya has been playing fighting games since elementary school. Hasegawa is joined by Kana Ichinose as Mio Yorue, a Kuromi Girls’ Academy student with the nickname Shirayuri-sama (white lily). Beneath her beauty and gracefulness, Mio is a diehard gamer, and she’s not good at studying.


Ejima launched the Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games manga in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Flapper magazine in January 2020. The eight compiled book valume released on October 22, 2024, followed by the release of the seventh volume in English on December 17. The anime was first announced in 2021.
