    Onimusha VR: Shadow Team Heads to Japanese Arcades on March 14

    Capcom announced Onimusha VR: Shadow Team is heading to four arcades in Japan starting March 14. The new title will feature single player and co-op with up to four players. 

    Onimusha VR: Shadow Team tells the story of a warrior named Hideyasu Yuki, also known as the “Blue Demon of Ashes.” Yuki fights to save the world from Genma and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. 

    Each session of the game lasts roughly 20 minutes and costs 1,000 yen, or $6.60. Players in Japan may look forward to the game at the following locations, according to Capcom:

    • MIRAINO Aeon Mall Hakusan in Hiroshima (March 14)
    • MIRAINO Aeon Mall Toyokawa in Aichi (March 14)
    • Plaza CAPCOM Shitoro store in Shizuoka (March 15)

    The next release in the Onimusha series is a remastered version of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, releasing on May 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are available now on all platforms. Fans can catch up by playing Onimusha: Warlords, which is available on the aforementioned platforms.

    In 2026, Capcom will release the next new entry in the series, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Set in feudal Japan amidst the historic landmarks of Kyoto, including Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Onimusha: Way of the Sword follows the story of a new protagonist wielding the Oni Gauntlet against the demonic Genma. The new samurai action game emphasizes the satisfaction of slicing through enemies and rewards making strategic decisions when absorbing their souls in the heat of battle.
