Shogakukan has announced that the Blue Orchestra manga is finally returning after sixteen months. The series will resume serialization on February 25.
Season 1 of the Blue Orchestra anime series released in 2023. Season 2 will release later this year in Fall 2025. Seiji Kishi directed the first season at Nippon Animation. Jun Sakata was the production supervisor and chief producer. Additionally, Yuuko Kakihara wrote the series scripts, and Kazuaki Morita was the character designer. Currently, the anime does not have a distributor in the West.
Makoto Akui launched the Blue Orchestra manga series in the MANGA One app by Shogakukan in 2017. The manga quickly rose in popularity and even won the Best Shonen Manga award at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2023. The manga has been on hiatus since October 23, but it will now return on February 25. The reason for the initial hiatus was unknown.
According to Anime News Network, Elex Media describes the series as follows:
In the fall of his third and final year of middle school, Hajime Aono, a violin prodigy, stopped playing violin for his own personal reasons. But it was also that year when he got to know a girl who told him about a high school with a prestigious school orchestra. Suddenly, the gears in the clock of Aono’s life began to turn again. This is the story of a youth drama that brings forth the harmony between music and the heart!
Lastly, Blue Orchestra will return to serialization on February 25. The second season of the anime will air at some point in Fall 2025.
