    Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Brings New Characters, Quality of Life Improvements, and More

    The journey on Amorpheus continues.

    During the Honkai: Star Rail Special Program broadcast this morning, HoYoverse has officially announced the next Version update for their space-faring RPG. Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 “Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne” will launch on February 26, 2025.

    In this update, The Trailblazer will take on the role of a messenger, embarking alongside their companions to a brand-new map, the Grove of Epiphany. In this update, players and their companions will forge ahead on the grand Flame-Chase Journey, venturing into uncharted territories and embracing a tapestry of thrilling events.

    Honkai Star Rail Version 3.1 – New Playable Characters

    Two new playable characters, Tribbie and Mydei, will also make their debut, weaving their unique threads into the ever-unfolding saga, the former of whom will have players harness the power of Oronyx to awaken echoes of the past, leading them to another new map where the Abyss of Fate, once known as Janusopolis, stands in its Day State. Along the way, they will uncover long-buried secrets from the Era Chrysea, gradually unveiling Tribbie’s past.

    Tribbie is a 5-star Quantum character who follows the Path of Harmony. In combat, she can deploy a special zone where the enemies take more damage. Every time an enemy within the zone is attacked, Tribbie deals additional damage to the one with the highest HP. She can also trigger Follow-up ATKs in order to frequently help the team end a battle swiftly. While creating a more advantageous environment for her teammates to deal DMG, she further elevates the team’s combat potential. She can also trigger Follow-up ATKs frequently to help the team end a battle swiftly.

    As for Mydei, he is a 5-star Imaginary character following the Path of Destruction. In battle, Mydei fully utilizes his undying nature to fight the enemies. With a mass of Max HP, he can consume HP to charge, and then enter an enhanced form. When enhanced, Mydei automatically strikes enemies in his turn, dealing greater damage. Tribbei’s banner will be available in the first half of Version 3.1, alongside a rerun for Yunli. The second half will see the debut of Mydei’s banner, with Huohuo making a return.

    Honkai Star Rail’s New Events and Storylines

    In addition to new characters and storylines, Version 3.1 brings an array of exciting events. One highlight is the new season of Divergent Universe, which introduces a brand-new research topic centered on Amphoreus. This time, battles will feature the innovative Day and Night System, where combat alternates between day and night. Each state provides unique boosts, while transitions between them trigger additional effects.

    Furthermore, the Day and Night System, along with its associated Blessings, is deeply connected to the Titans and the Chrysos Heirs, adding layers of strategy and lore to the experience. Additionally, Trailblazers will take part in The Awooo Firm event, where players step into the role of manager to assist the chimera squad in Okhema. By providing guidance and support, Trailblazers will help the squad turn their fortunes around and rise to become the strongest team of all.

    Improvements to the Trailblazer Story

    Last, but not least, during the Special Program, there was a message from Honkai Series Writer Shaoji, and Game Designer Punk. In their messages, both developers discussed about the feedback they have received from all players in regards to the Version 3.0 Trailblazer Story.

    Starting from Version 3.1, and into Version 3.2, the developers have confirmed that they will be working on streamlining the puzzles and removing certain enemies, in order to make sure the story experience in Amorpheus doesn’t cause fatigue or feels cumbersome.

    In Q3 2025, Archer (Emiya Shirou) and other Servants will board the Astral Express in the upcoming Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works collaboration. More collaborations for Honkai: Star Rail are expected to come, so stay tuned.
