Xbox Game Studios announced Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Mythology: Retold are coming to PlayStation 5. Age of Mythology: Retold releases first on March 4 alongside the new Immortal Pillars expansion, while Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition follows up this spring with new DLC on PS5.
Age of Mythology: Retold will be available on PS5 with the same content as the Xbox and PC versions, ensuring parity. In addition, it will feature cross-play with Xbox and PC. A Age of Mythology: Retold Premium Edition will be available with five days of early access starting February 27, the Immortal Pillars expansion, and two exclusive Blessings for the Arena of the Gods mode. Pre-orders are available now in the PlayStation Store.
This spring, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will come to PS5 with a brand-new expansion. It will feature new content, new civilizations for Ranked play, and much more. Just like Age of Mythology: Retold, the game will feature cross-play between all platforms to ensure parity. More details will be revealed this spring.
Another DLC expansion will be released later this year across all platforms simultaneously. It will expand on concepts previously introduced, such as variant civilizations, with player feedback in mind. Players can expect a large set of new units and buildings, updated visuals and better readability, and unique game modes.
