Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that PlayStation Network accounts are no longer required to play first-party games on PC, starting with the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Instead, there will be incentives for players who choose to login with a PSN account to play their favorite PlayStation games on PC.
Players who sign into a PSN account will enjoy additional benefits for PlayStation games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. These benefits include trophies, friend management, early in-game unlocks, and additional DLC like bonus outfits, according to PlayStation Blog.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 — Early unlock suits: the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and the Miles Morales 2099 Suit
- God of War Ragnarok — Gain access to the Armor of the Black Bear set for Kratos at the first Lost Items chest in the Realm Between Realms (previously only accessible in a New Game+ run) and a resource bundle (500 Hacksilver and 250 XP)
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered — +50 points to activate bonus features and unlock extras, and Jordan’s Jacket from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as a skin for Ellie
- Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered — Gain access to Nora Valiant outfit
PlayStation Studios are working on more benefits for PSN account holders who play games on PC.
Additionally, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed its PlayStation Plus monthly games lineup for February 2025 will feature Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac. PlayStation Plus members will have access to the February 2025 monthly games lineup starting February 4.
