We reported last year that Tekken 8 sold over two million copies in under three weeks from its launch. This was unexpected for the studio, as it is stated to be “ahead of expenses for this fiscal year.” To put it into perspective, Tekken 7 sold two million copies in about four months, while it only took Tekken 8 three weeks. This is a big step for Tekken 8 and is a good sign for the game’s future.
Additionally, Tekken 8 is officially a part of the EVO 2025 main game lineup. Stay tuned for any further Tekken 8 announcements at EVO 2025 here at Final Weapon.
Moreover, in a new interview with IGN, Katsuhiro Harada discussed the possibility of adding another Final Fantasy character to Tekken 8 after the game added Clive Rosfield of Final Fantasy XVI as its 4th DLC fighter. Harada states that the team isn’t limited to one character from Final Fantasy, and “might” be cool if another was added, but that’s not something the developers themselves can decide alone.
Tekken 8 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Stay tuned for more Tekken 8 guides and news at Final Weapon. In the meantime, check out our latest guide on how to improve at the game as well as our review:
