SHIFT UP has updated its official website, confirming that “AAA urban science-fiction action RPG” Project Witches has been renamed to Project Spirits. In addition, SHIFT UP is now hiring more staff for the development of Project Spirits, including background artists, battle planners, and more.
The official website offers the following description: “Project Spirits is SHIFT UP’s new flagship project, a subculture cross-platform title that embraces the concept of “EASTERN Fantasy.” As a new IP following Stellar Blade and NIKKE, it is currently in development as a top-tier quality game for the industry, building on SHIFT UP’s proven track record and expertise in IP creation demonstrated through previous projects.”

Sony Interactive Entertainment and SHIFT UP will release the PC version of Stellar Blade on Steam and Epic Games Store on June 11. A Stellar Blade Complete Edition will also be available for the PlayStation 5 and PC that same day. The Complete Edition includes the digital game, Twin Expansion Pack featuring the NieR: Automata DLC and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE DLC, a Goddess of Victory: NIKKE CD-key for a Stellar Blade costume in the mobile game, Fluffy Bear Pack drone cosmetics, and Planet Diving Suit (Captain) for Eve.
SHIFT UP is planning to release a Stellar Blade sequel and the new Project Spirits action RPG by 2027. The two games are part of an IP expansion plan for SHIFT UP and its games, including Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.
Project Witches will be a cross-platform title on consoles, PC, and mobile devices, and the game itself is built in Unreal Engine 5.
