SEGA Launches Virtua Fighter 30th Anniversary Character Popularity Poll

SEGA is giving Virtua Fighter fans the chance to crown their favorite character in a special popularity poll. Spanning all seven games in the franchise’s history, fans can choose from an impressive roster of 89 characters. The top-ranking characters will have their likeliness featured on exclusive original T-shirts.

Moreover, the Virtua Fighter character popularity poll is currently live and will run until February 12. Fans who are interested in participating in the vote can go to the website below:

Also, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio released Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. on PC via Steam with a 20% discount. The discount will be available until February 3, after which the price will return back to $19.99. 

Fans can look forward to the “Virtua Fighter Open Championship,” which uses Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. on Steam. The global tournament will be held in spring 2025, and winners of the regional qualifiers will face off at the “Grand Final Tournament.” More information will be revealed at a later date.

Recently, the developers revealed multiple pieces of information on the New VIRTUA FIGHTER Project in a recent interview. Producer Riichiro Yamada and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio executive producer Masayoshi Yokoyama sat down with Famitsu to discuss the game’s development and goals. The developers also released a pre-development concept video showcasing in-engine footage of the previs and pre-production process for the upcoming title.
