NEXON announced the company will be presenting a session centered around The First Descendant at the 2025 Game Developers Conference (GDC), which takes place from March 17 to March 31 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco California. Hosted by The First Descendant executive producer Beomjun Lee, the session is titled “Persevering Through a 57 Metacritic as a Live Service Game.”
During the session, Lee will discuss key lessons that the team learned from eight months of operating The First Descendant after launch. It will cover the challenges faced during operations, the strategies the team employed to address them, and approaches taken to satisfy players leading up to the Season 2: Void Chaser update. Lee will also outline overarching goals for The First Descendant and sustainable live service development plans at GDC 2025.
“It is an honor to present The First Descendant at a conference where game developers from around the world gather,” said Beomjun Lee. “Through this session, I aim to share the experiences we’ve gained while operating the game and reveal our future plans, focused on meeting player expectations.”
Previously, NEXON Games released playable Descendant Ines in The First Descendant. She was made available alongside new Void Erosion Purge content, the Weapon Core Unlocking System, and the New Void Abyss Intercept Battle.
Lastly, The First Descendant is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
