Prepare for Pokémon GO Tour: Unova With ‘Road to Unova’ Event

The Pokémon Company and Niantic announced players can prepare for Pokémon GO Tour: Unova with the new “Road to Unova” event, which will be held from February 24 to March 1.

Firstly, Niantic reiterates that the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova event will feature an all-new Tour Pass with free and limited-time progression tracks. Players will be able to earn rewards from the Tour Pass by completing activities and Pass Tasks, catching Pokémon, and hatching Eggs from February 24 at 10:00 a.m. to March 2 at 6:00 p.m. local time. 

Moreover, there will be a Tour Pass Deluxe ($14.99) for players wanting to earn even better rewards and progress faster. Players who buy the Tour Pass Deluxe get an encounter with Mythical Pokémon Vicini, a new Lucky Trinket item that turns grants the Lucky Friend status to a friend, a new avatar item, and more. Progress can be fast tracked even further with the $19.99 Tour Pass Deluxe Bundle featuring 10 immediate rank unlocks.

Shiny Meloetta makes its debut during the Road to Unova event, and a Masterwork Research ticket ($4.99) will give players a guaranteed encounter. Moreover, there will be paid Road to Unova: Raids and Road to Unova: Hatch for $4.99 that gives players additional reward opportunities during the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova global event on March 1 to 2.

It’s worth noting that Timed Research tasks must be completed and rewards must be claimed before March 2 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Niantic also confirmed that Pokédex will receive a major visual update just in time for Pokémon GO Tour: Unova. There will be updates to Pokémon encounters as well, allowing Pokémon to appear in a greater variety of locations across the board.

In addition to the Tour Pass, players can expect many Pokémon to appear during Pokémon GO Tour: Unova, including Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. Pokémon GO Tour: Unova will take place from February 21 to 23, 2025 in New Taipei City, Taiwan and in Los Angeles at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
