The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to launch between April and September 2025, according to third-party publisher Nacon. Nacon’s Q3 earnings release also notes that the company is expecting a slight increase in sales thanks to the new console, as spotted by MauroNL.
Specifically, the company notes that “the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 console, for which Nacon already has compatible games and a full range of accessories,” will increase operating income. The new accessories were revealed shortly after the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal.
Nacon’s official Nintendo Switch 2 accessories include several carrying cases of varying colors, protective covering, a car charger, a normal charger, and wheel peripherals. The last of which will likely be compatible with the next entry in the Mario Kart franchise. The accessories will be available at the launch of Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo Switch 2 features a new stand, new magnetic joycons, a mysterious new button, and a new dock and handheld base. The console is expected to have Hall Effect sticks, which eliminate the stick drift problems of the original Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo also confirmed that the console plays “Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, as well as Nintendo Switch games. Nintendo Switch 2 plays both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. Certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Details will be shared on the Nintendo website at a later date.”
A Nintendo Direct will be held on April 2 to showcase the new console and its games. Fans hoping to try the console out can attend the Switch 2 experience, an event that will be held around the world.
