The staff of the Lycoris Recoil anime series announced that the six new anime short films will be released with the official title Lycoris Recoil: Friends are thieves of time. A new key visual and staff members for each short film were also revealed.

Shingo Adachi initially directed the Lycoris Recoil anime in 2022 at A-1 Pictures. 13 episodes were released, and the series is streaming on Crunchyroll.
