Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition received a brand-new trailer yesterday, and with it came confirmation of many highly-requested features. While details themselves were mostly scarce, Nintendo followed up and posted a new article highlighting some of the things we saw in the trailer.
Below, Final Weapon Staff Writer RyujiBlades has translated each of the new details straight from Nintendo. This includes elements like the Navi-Ball, Quickcast, the new Skell Hraesvelgr, and more.
Reworked Element: Navi-Ball
The Navi-Ball has been revamped, and if a quest requires you to grab certain items, it will guide you towards them. In the example screenshot, the quest is titled “License Obtainment Exam 5”, which requires you to find some items, and this showcases the Navi-Ball properly showcasing where to find the items.
New Battle Element
A new battle mechanic, called Quickcast in Japanese, allows for the shorter cooldown of Arts.
New Skell Type: Hraesvelgr
This new Skell type has an eye-catching Japanese sword-like weapon and a large propulsion machine. In the trailer, we can see its flying animation, which looks very different as well.
New Character: Neil Nail
The identity of the “mysterious girl” we see in the trailer is revealed. Her name, when translated, reads something like Neil Nail, but this name could be different based on the localization.
New Area: The Floating Continent
The trailer showcases what appears to be a brand-new area. In Japanese, this area is called the “fuyuu tairiku”, and when translated, literally means “floating continent”. This is also confirmed to be something we’ll be getting in the additional story that supposedly takes place after the ending.
