The official website for SEGA and Colorful Palette’s COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing was updated, revealing the anime movie’s third official trailer. The new movie will open in theaters in Japan on January 17, and it’s based on the popular Hatsune Miku: COLORFUL STAGE! mobile game.
The new trailer for the COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing movie will play across 26 Japanese theaters from December 27 to February 6. A global release for the movie is also planned, but further details involving the expanded release were not revealed yet.

The cast includes Saki Fujita as Hatsune Miku and Ruriko Noguchi as Ichika Hoshino. Hiroyuki Hata is directing the Hatsune Miku: COLORFUL STAGE anime movie at P.A. Works with Yoko Yonaiyama writing the screenplay. Yuki Akiyama is the movie’s character designer and chief animation director. Masatoshi Tsuji is another director and character designer, and Satoshi Hōno is the composer.
The story of the film follows Ichika Hoshino, who hears a Miku song she’s never heard of before at a CD shop. She sees a Hatsune Miku whom she’s never seen before, either. Ichika is surprised by this Miku, who appears on Ichika’s smartphone to tell her that her songs cannot reach anyone. Miku asks for her help after seeing Ichika reach others through her live street performances.
Lastly, Hatsune Miku: COLORFUL STAGE! is available now for Android and iOS worldwide.
