During Jump Festa 2025, it was confirmed that the new one-hour special for the Undead Unluck anime series will feature a new original story. The one-hour special is scheduled to premiere in winter 2025.
Undead Unluck creator Yoshifumi Tozuka is writing the original story for the one-hour anime special. Tozuka also designed a new UMA creature named Balance, which was revealed on the anime’s official Twitter/X account.

In January 2020, Tozuka originally published the manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The anime adaptation premiered this past October exclusively on Hulu. Like many other popular anime series, Undead Unluck aired in a two-cour run, which concluded on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Yuki Yase directed the anime adaptation at David Production, the studio best known for the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series. Hideyuki Morioka is the anime’s character designer, and Kenichiro Suehiro is the music composer. UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS produced and planned the anime.
Shiyui performed the opening theme song “Love Call” for Undead Unluck Part 2. Moreover, OKAMOTO’S performed the ending theme song “Kono Ai ni Kanau Mon wa Nai.”
