PlayStation has released a technical seminar for the PS5 Pro. Mark Cerny presents the video, which describes how the console came together. According to the Blog post, “In the presentation, you’ll learn what the ‘advanced’ in ‘Advanced Ray Tracing’ really means, the difference between FLOPS and TOPS, and some of the challenges involved in developing the efficient machine learning hardware needed for PSSR – the AI-driven upscaling featured in PS5 Pro.”

About the PlayStation 5 Pro
The new PS5 Pro aims to deliver smooth 60 FPS with visuals players expect from a Fidelity mode. To do this, the console has a GPU with 67% more compute units and 28% faster memory. This gives a 45% boost in rendering. Moreover, the console features more powerful ray tracing abilities (double to triple ray casting speed) with more dynamic reflection and refraction of light.
The new console also introduces PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling system that uses machine learning-based technology to boost image clarity. On top of this, PS5 Pro Game Boost will apply to more than 8,500 PS4 games and enhance the performance of supported PS5 games. Network connectivity has also been improved, with Wi-Fi 7 support included.
