The official Dragon Ball Games X/Twitter page announced that the Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO developers will address rage quits and online connection issues in an upcoming update. Players who disconnect against their opponents will receive decreased points. In contrast, the opponent’s points will increase.
This is all done to make Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO players think twice before attempting rage quits. The developers note that the points will take some time to be reflected. Additionally, the online matching and connection issues have been improved. Be aware that online maintenance will occur on December 19 from 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. EST.
Recently, the developers revealed the patch notes for the December 12 update on the game’s Steam page. This new update allows all stages to be playable in offline P1 vs P2 battles, skippable intros in online matches, and more. Many changes have been made for the system mechanics, skills, blasts, and characters. For those wondering, Afterimage Strike, Instant Spark skills, Giants, and Android 19/20 have received nerfs.
Fans may also look forward to new DLC characters Glorio and Vegeta (Mini) from Dragon Ball Daima. Glorio and Vegeta (Mini) will be available alongside others from Dragon Ball Daima in Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO DLC 2, launching in Q1 2025. DLC 2 will also release in Q1 2025, focusing on playable characters from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. DLC 3 releases in Q2 2025 with more playable characters from Dragon Ball Daima. All three DLCs are available separately or with the Season Pass.
The Dramatic Showdown Tournament Series
Moreover, Sparking ZERO is hosting its first official tournament series, The Dramatic Showdown. This series began with a string of online national tournaments in November and December 2024 to select the top players from nine regions, including both coasts of the US, Mexico, Japan, France, Italy, Germany, the UK, and Spain. Seven more players will earn their spot at the DRAGON BALL Games Battle Hour in Los Angeles on January 18, 2025. The top 16 players will then face off in the Grand Finals on January 19, where only one will emerge as the ultimate champion.
Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
