Sony Interactive Entertainment and Polyphony Digital shared a few new details about the January 2025 update for Gran Turismo 7, which includes the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N electric car.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N will be the designated car for the Qualifying Time Trial session of the Gran Turismo 7 Nations Cup World Finals on December 8. Fans can watch this event live on official channels and on Gran Turismo TV. The car will be a special reward in the Viewers Gift campaign that runs along with the World Finals, according to Polyphony Digital.
Although the reward will be distributed in the January 2025 update, Gran Turismo 7 players can secure their Ioniq 5 N by tuning into the Nations Cup via the campaign banner located in the World Map. It’s unclear what else the update will include, however.
The previous update, Gran Turismo 7 update 1.54, released on November 20. It introduced various new cars: the Ford Escort RS Cosworth ’92, Mercedes-Benz W 196 R ’55, Porsche 911 Turbo S (992) ’20, Porsche Mission X ’23, and Suzuki Jimny Sierra JC ’18 cars. A new Extra Menu, Extra Menu No. 42 Collection: Ferrari Speciale, is available to players at Collector Level 48 and above.
There’s so much more to update 1.54, including the Rotiform wheel brand. The new Jimny Cup (Grand Valley – South), Porsche Cup (WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca), and Race of Turbo Sportscars (Mount Panorama Circuit) World Circuits events were added as well.
Gran Turismo 7 will continue to receive major updates on a near-monthly basis on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Lastly, Polyphony Digital plans to release the free demo titled My First GT soon.
