Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed an “early look” at its PlayStation 30th anniversary plans, including Polyphony Digital’s My First GT trial game for Gran Turismo 7. Fans may also look forward to digital game soundtracks, new products, and so much more.
My First Gran Turismo
My First GT will launch this holiday season as free trial version of Gran Turismo 7, aimed to attract players of all skill levels. It will feature cars, tracks, and race events that “evoke nostalgia and excitement of the very first GT experience.” More details will be announced at at a later date, according to PlayStation Blog.
PlayStation Soundtracks
In collaboration with Sony Music, digital soundtracks of PlayStation franchises will be released for the first time on Spotify from October 2024 to January 2025. The following game soundtracks will be available to stream and purchase: God of War, God of War II, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Twisted Metal, Starhawk, and Unit 13. A PlayStation 30th Anniversary playlist is available to stream now on Spotify too.
Shapes of Play
Launching in December 2024, a new product collection called “Shapes of Play” will be available, crafted by the team responsible for the creation of PlayStation console designs. These products include:
- Shapes of Play: Battle: a board game where you can challenge a friend to line up four different shapes of the same color on the board to win.
- Shapes of Play: Create: a set of magnetic blocks that you can position in any direction to create fun shapes.
- Shapes of Play: Recharge: Experience a new way to recharge between games, especially after that tough boss battle.
Players may purchase any of the Shapes of Play products at direct.playstation.com in US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Benelux, with pre-orders starting today.
Free Online Weekend and Tournaments
A free online multiplayer weekend will be held on September 21 and 22, allowing players to enjoy multiplayer without a PlayStation Plus subscription. That same weekend, PS5 esports tournaments will be held for NBA 2K24, NBA 2K25, Madden NFL 24, MLB The Show 24, EA UFC 5, Tekken 8, and Guilty Gear Strive. Compete to earn a special 30th anniversary-themed avatar and other game-specific prizes.
