FromSoftware is working on multiple games across various genres, according to company president and CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki at PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia. Miyazaki also commented on the status of the Elden Ring IP.
According to Miyazaki, some of the games in development at FromSoftware come in a variety of genres, with some being directed by him. He hopes that the company will be able to show players “a new FromSoftware in a variety of ways.”
While discussing Elden Ring, Miyazaki noted that FromSoftware is not considering a sequel, such as an Elden Ring 2. However, he doesn’t deny the possibility of the Elden Ring IP continuing or developing in some form in the future, as reported by Automaton Media.
Previously, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware revealed that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has reached five million players less than one week after launch. Despite its somewhat divisive reception due to its difficulty, its safe to say that Shadow of the Erdtree is a major hit.
Bandai Namco and FromSoftware recently released the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree original soundtrack on Apple Music, Spotify, and other streaming services worldwide. The original soundtrack features 36 music tracks composed by Yuka Kitamura, Shoi Miyazawa, Tai Tomizawa, Soma Tanizaki, and Tsukasa Saitoh.
Bandai Namco also released a limited edition jacket based on Maliketh from Elden Ring. Only 500 pieces of the sukajan-style jacket were made available in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL.
Lastly, Elden Ring and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC are available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
