Ahead of the release of Warframe: 1999, Digital Extremes announced the game’s predecessor, Dark Sector, is free on PC via Steam until November 30. Steam users who add Dark Sector to their library may keep the game on their account.
The story of Dark Sector places players in the role of Hayden Tenno, a covert operative on a mission in Lasria, an Eastern European nation hiding a deadly Cold War secret. During the mission, he’s attacked by an unknown enemy and infected with the Technocyte Virus, a bio-weapon that turns its victim into mindless killers. However, the virus instead turns Hayden into a hero with powerful abilities.
The release date of Warframe: 1999 will be revealed at The Game Awards 2024 on December 12.
