Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that a PlayStation Portal system update will release today with a beta test for cloud streaming for PS5 games. Over 120 PS5 games from the PS Plus Game Catalog will be playable in this beta test.
The latest PlayStation Portal system update makes an adjustment to speaker audio output to make volume lower when audio level is set to minimum. Players can also adjust settings of their PlayStation Link device from the PlayStation Portal setting menu, allowing you to optimize the volume and sidetone volume.
Most notably, the update brings cloud streaming support to PlayStation Portal, allowing PS Plus Premium members to test their games out in a beta test format. 120 games from the PS Plus Game Catalog are playable through the cloud, even without a PS5 console. It’s worth noting that this is an experimental feature and some aspects may change in the final version, however.
Games that are compatible include Dave the Diver, Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Monster Hunter Rise, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The games can be streamed at 1080p 60 FPS. DualSense wireless controllers and its full feature set are supported. Save data and game progress can be stored up to 100 GB and automatically synced to a PS5 console, according to PlayStation Blog.
Lastly, cloud streaming will be available in the following locations: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.
