SEGA announced that Sonic the Hedgehog and friends are teaming up with Topgolf starting November 15 to launch the new Topgolf Sonic the Hedgehog game at venues across the US and Glasgow. More Toptracer-enabled franchise venues around the world will receive localized versions of the game in Q1 2025.
Developed by Topgolf in partnership with SEGA, the new title combines the fast-paced action of Sonic the Hedgehog with a premier golfing experience. Players may enjoy Topgolf Sonic the Hedgehog across various virtual environments, including Green Hill Zone and Sky Sanctuary, and hit springs, collect rings, and destroy badniks. The proprietary Toptracer ball-tracing technology as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy track shots and collect rings.
To celebrate the announcement, Topgolf is offering an exclusive offer to Sonic fans, allowing them to collect 30 minutes of free play time with any walk-in reservation by using the redeemable code at www.topgolf.com/FREE. Moreover, a global advertising campaign featuring Sonic and his friends will launch during Thursday Night Football, followed by an integrated launch on streaming, digital, and social channels.
Lastly, special limited-edition Sonic the Hedgehog merchandise will be available at all participating US and Glasgow venues. The merchandise includes hats, sweatshirts, and t-shirts, which are available in adult and youth sizes. These items feature Sonic holding Topgolf’s newest club, The Sure Thing.
