Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Contents Leaked

    A new social experience.

Tonight, the contents of the Nintendo Switch Online Playtest have been leaked. For those unfamiliar, Nintendo revealed two weeks ago that a new experience is coming for NSO users, stating the following on its website:

“We will perform a test called Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program related to a new feature for the Nintendo Switch Online service offered for the Nintendo Switch system.”

Only 10,000 applicants were selected to participate, and the sign-ups were closed within seconds of opening. A webpage detailing the contents of the playtest is live, and details are actively being leaked. Nintendo made it clear that those involved in the playtest must abide by its terms and not share any information, but the leaks have begun and were inevitable without a proper NDA. You can find screenshots of the playtest contents and other information involving it all over Twitter.

Nintendo Switch Online was first launched for the Nintendo Switch in September 2018. The service provided access to select NES titles, cloud saves, online multiplayer, and more for $19.99 a year. In 2021, Nintendo released Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. This higher tier included Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis titles, with access to DLC from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons for free. Dozens of N64 titles have been added to the service since launch, with new games still releasing monthly
