Yakuza Kiwami is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 24, marking the franchise’s debut on the platform. It will likely pave the way for more Yakuza titles to come to the platform, thanks to its low $19.99 price and launch alongside the Like a Dragon: Yakuza Prime Video series. Digital pre-orders for Yakuza Kiwami are now live in the Nintendo eShop on Switch and browsers.
During RGG Summit, RGG Studio revealed Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, a new Like a Dragon: Gaiden-style spin-off starring Goro Majima. The game will launch on February 28, 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Yakuza Kiwami is currently available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One worldwide. Lastly, here’s a description of Yakuza Kiwami, via Steam:
1995, Kamurocho… Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima, takes the fall for the murder of a crime boss to protect his sworn brother, Akira Nishikiyama, and his childhood friend, Yumi.
2005… Akira Nishikiyama has become a changed man. Yumi is nowhere to be found. Ten billion yen has gone missing from the Tojo Clan’s coffers, putting the organization on the brink of civil war. And Kazuma Kiryu is released from prison to a world he no longer recognizes.
With enhanced gameplay, an expanded cinematic story, the return of the battle styles from Yakuza 0, more nightlife spots, and re-recorded audio by the series cast, Yakuza Kiwami is the ultimate and most “extreme” version of the original vision of the series.
