Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Halloween 2024 Update and More Revealed

The world of New Genesis is getting spooky.

SEGA revealed new details about updates for free-to-play online action RPG Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis during the month of October 2024, including the new Halloween ’24 update.

Firstly, the October 2 update will bring changes to Stia’s Exploration Sectors, including floating islands in the sky and land surfacing in lava areas filled with Megalotix enemies. Completing Trials with Side Missions may cause Gigantix Vardias and Ruine Angele to spawn, with rare rewards like title tasks up for grabs. One of the new Trials will involve Recon Gigants, and another will be a Co-Op Trial that charges a certain amount of M.A.R.S. battery when completed.

The October 2 update also brings the Equipment Upgrade (Augment Transfer) feature to the Exchange Shop menu. This feature may be used to retain some Augments while enhancing equipment. The 11-star Rarity Exelio weapon series will become upgradable, with more equipment sets to become upgradeable in the future. You may also look forward to Water Space Build Parts in Creative Space.

On October 9, the Halloween ’24 update update for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will be live. Central City will be adorned with Halloween decorations, and nearby Region Mags will have specially themed attire. Reaper Rappy, Trickertreat Emperappy, and Trickertreat Great Rappy will also roam the field.

Xiemi’s Seasonal Points Exchange Shop will have special items and gear on offer, including BP: Matsutake Mushrooms and the aforementioned Exelio weapons. The new Limited-time Urgent Quest: Haunted Domain II will also be available with additional rewards to obtain.
