New documentation from the United States Patent and Trademark Office confirms that PlatinumGames has full rights over the trademark for The Wonderful 101. Previously, the trademark was owned by Nintendo.
A transferal request for The Wonderful 101 trademark was documented this past August, detailing the changing-of-hands from Nintendo to PlatinumGames. It includes a link to a Notice of Recordation of Assignment document, dated on August 19, with a transfer and registration date of September 9.
It’s worth noting that this trademark applies to the original The Wonderful 101. According to Hideki Kamiya, The Wonderful 101 Remastered and The Wonderful One: After School Hero copyrights belong to PlatinumGames.
PlatinumGames released The Wonderful 101 Remastered “The Wonderful One: After School Hero Part 2” DLC for free on May 26, 2023. The new DLC picks up where The Wonderful One: After School Hero Part 1 left off. Players must install Part 1 first in order to gain access to Part 2.
