REYNATIS scenario writer Kazushige Nojima would like to work on a sequel to the new action RPG, according to a recent Siliconera interview. Nojima shared his thoughts on the story, just a week ahead of the game’s western release.
According to Nojima, it’s difficult to tell a linear story in an open map structure, and he encountered this problem in REYNATIS. He would like to solve this problem in a REYNATIS sequel and implement episodes for all the individual characters.
“It’s always difficult to tell a linear story in a game with an open map structure,” Nojima said. “I encountered this issue with REYNATIS, but I don’t think I quite solved it. I’d love to take another crack at it. Also, we weren’t able to put in episodes for the individual characters, so if there were the opportunity to do that [it would be great].”
A free REYNATIS demo is now available in the west, allowing players to enjoy an early portion of the game as both Marin Kirizumi and Sari Nishijima. The REYNATIS demo will grant special bonuses in the full game, depending on the player’s in-game status when it’s cleared.
REYNATIS releases on September 27 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in the west. Pre-orders for the REYNATIS Limited Edition are available now for $99.99 in the NIS America Online Store. Limited Edition contents include the Deluxe Edition, a collector’s box, an art book, an acrylic art print, a multi-panel art print, and a digipack original mini soundtrack.
