SEGA announced the collaboration between free-to-play online action RPG Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis and Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No. 8 manga and anime series is now live.
The Kaiju No. 8 Style AC Scratch Ticket is now available in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. Players may earn avatar items, voice tickets, weapon camos, and more based on Reno Ichikawa, Kikoru Shinomiya, Mina Ashiro, and Soshiro Hoshina from Kaiju No. 8 by pulling from the Scratch Ticket. The Scratch Count Bonus is a full-body suit that transforms you into Kaiju No. 8 itself.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis may also look forward to a revamp of the PSO 2 Day event, starting September 21. Going forward, players will receive more boosts and gifts from the 1st to 3rd and the 21st to 23rd of each month. EXP earned will increase by 50% and rare drop rates will increase by 100%. Moreover, all players will receive 50 SG, two Special Scratch Tickets, 1 Material Storage Use (5 days), and 2 N-Color-Change Passes. Premium users can receive even more boosts and gifts, and there will be deals and AC Scratch Tickets.
The Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto entered serialization in Manga Plus in 2020, and it’s still ongoing with a cult following backing its success. Over 16 million copies of the manga have been sold, and the first season of the anime adaptation wrapped up earlier this year. Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 will premiere in 2025.
Lastly, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store, Windows, and Steam.
