Bandai Namco announced Freedom Wars is coming back as Freedom Wars Remastered on January 10, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
Originally released for the PS Vita, Freedom Wars has been upgraded to support up to 4K at 60 FPS on modern platforms. In addition, Freedom Wars Remastered includes an adjusted game balance, new features, updates to weapon crafting and upgrades, and much more.
Update: In an interview at IGN, producer Takashi Tsukamoto noted that a Freedom Wars sequel is possible if Freedom Wars Remastered does well enough sales wise.
“What success would look like is for this game to do well, and well enough that we could take the next step into potentially releasing a sequel,” Tsukamoto said.
