Following the conclusion of the Grand Festival, Nintendo of America announced that regular content updates for Splatoon 3 have come to a close. This means that Splatoon 3 will no longer receive new content and new Splatfests.
However, Splatoon 3 will continue to receive balance updates with weapon adjustments as needed. In addition, Splatoween, Frosty Fest, Spring Fest, and Summer Nights will continue with some returning themes. Big Run, Eggstra Work, and Monthly Challenges will also continue for the time being, according to the official Splatoon Twitter account.
The Splatoon 3 Grand Festival featured the unique theme: Past vs Present vs Future. Serving as the final Splatfest and the game’s second anniversary celebration, the Grand Festival saw each of the idols from the Splatoon series return for the climactic battle. The Squid Sisters from the original Splatoon game represent the past, Off the Hook from Splatoon 2 represents the present, and Deep Cut from Splatoon 3 represents the future.

Team Past came out on top with 500p in what Nintendo calls the biggest Splatfest ever. To celebrate, the winning team and participating players may get their fair share of Super Sea Snails. Nintendo also released a video that looks back at Splatoon 3’s past Splatfest events, as players look forward to the future of the Splatoon series.

A Nintendo Switch successor is currently being prepared by Nintendo, so Splatoon fans will likely get their next new dose of content on that platform with a fourth entry.
