Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots may be coming to modern platforms and PC in the near future, according to IGN’s interview with Konami producer Noriaki Okamura. If its on the way, it may come in a Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 release.
When asked about the status of Metal Gear Solid 4, Okamura noted that Konami is “definitely aware” of the situation. However, he says fans can “connect the dots” since Vol. 1 doesn’t include the rest of the games in the Metal Gear franchise.
“We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4, Okamura said. “Unfortunately we can’t really say too much at the moment with Vol. 1 containing MGS 1-3 dot dot dot… you can probably connect the dots! Right now we still are internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series. So sorry, we can’t really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!”
Previously, placeholders for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker were discovered on the official Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection website.
Lastly, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The collection includes original Metal Gear Solid game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. In addition, the collection includes Metal Gear (MSX, NES), Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (MSX), and Metal Gear: Snake’s Revenge (NES). The original Metal Gear Solid title will include VR Missions and Special Missions, and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater are based off of their HD Collection versions.
