Chapter 13 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex is a very vital chapter to the overall plot of the story. In it, we learn more about Kashin Koji’s powers and the context surrounding them. Understandably, I know many people may be confused about what’s going on or filled with excitement. So, let’s go over this latest chapter and predict what could happen in the next one!
What Happened in Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 13?
Boruto and Sarada are still injured from getting sniped by Jura in Chapter 12. Seeing that Boruto knows too much information about the Thorn Soul Bulb, Jura decides to kill Boruto. However, Mamushi stops him and tells him that Boruto has another accomplice who acts as his source of intel. Matsuri was somehow able to find out that Kashin Koji is Boruto’s assistant, and this means bad news. This pretty much blows both Boruto’s and Kashin’s cover, so they both have to go back to the drawing board and adjust to the current situation. Jura then retreats for now, and it cuts to an interesting flashback of Boruto.
At the start of the flashback, Boruto is in some rocky area, hiding from 20 shinobi who are looking for him. All of a sudden, a toad calls out to him, telling Boruto to touch his back to escape the dire situation. Without hesitation, Boruto touches the toad and is instantly teleported to one of Orochimaru’s abandoned bases in the Land of Wind. Right across from him sits Kashin Koji, Sanzu Amado’s artificial creation. Boruto quickly recognizes him when he removes a bit of his mask and is stunned. Koji calms him down and states that he is aware of the whole omnipotence situation that Kawaki put him in. Understandably, Boruto is confused as to why Koji can objectively grasp the actual state of things. Kashin Koji paused for a moment, then revealed that he was able to see future realities.
Future Realities?!
To give more context, Otsutsuki Shibai was a God who devoured countless planets long ago, acquiring many types of shinjutsu. Each of the Karma members have transplants of Otsutsuki Shibai’s cells within them. Sanzu Amado did this in hopes that each Karma member would attain at least one of his shinjutsus. After fighting against Jigen, Kashin Koji randomly acquired his shinjutsu of being able to see all possible futures, which is called prescience. Koji even saw a future where a Divine Tree devoured Kawaki. Regardless, this moment was when Koji realized that Ten-Tails had to be destroyed, or else the planet would continue to be in danger.
Having said all of that, Kashin Koji mentioned to Boruto that one horrible future is possible. Ten-Tails would break free from Code’s control, evolve into multiple divine trees with individual minds, and their leader Jura would kill Boruto. While not an absolute thing, many futures Koji sees show it happening, including Kawaki being devoured and the planet dying. Of course, Kashin Koji wants to avoid this future and save the world. However, Boruto wants him to understand that no matter what happens, he will never agree to a plan that involves killing Kawaki. He wants to simply finish off Code and kill Ten-Tails. He says this while putting Sasuke’s headband on, silencing Kashin Koji with his demanding wishes. It’s great to see that Boruto has that stubbornness from his father.
The Present
The chapter then returns to the present, and we see Himawari healing all the injured individuals. As she runs to heal Boruto, Kawaki stops her and states that he must first be detained so that they can get more information out of him. As Kawaki tries to arrest him, he finds the Kashin Koji toad in Boruto’s cloak. He destroys it quickly, and it jokingly cuts to Kashin Koji being annoyed.
We then see the humanoid Divine Trees coming together to revive Hidari thanks to the Thorn Soul Bulb. However, there is another Thorn Soul Bulb that the team is attempting to bring to life. Who could this be? In one of the future realities Kashin Koji saw, Shinki, Gaara’s son, became a humanoid divine tree. Perhaps this is what we can expect of this new Thorn Soul Bulb. Having said all of that, I’m curious to see how Boruto will explain things to the others and how they will process it. Not to mention, what will Kashin Koji’s next move be now? Find out next time!
