X-Chair X-4 Review – Premium Comfort Meets Ergonomic Style

One of X-Chair's best products to date.

In 2024, X-Chair is offering some of the best chairs for the office space in the form of the X-Chair X-4 Leather Executive. This all-leather (with mesh backing) chair brings luxury to the office space at a reasonable price, with comfort and long-term performance being integral to its design. Despite its clear focus for the workplace, the X-Chair X-4 Leather Executive chair is also an incredible option for gamers who use their space for both work and play.

Starting at $1428 MSRP, the X-Chair X-4 comes in a massive box, disassembled for the user to put together. The entire package is roughly 75 pounds, give or take, but assembly was rather straight forward and simple, thanks to the included instructions and tools. In fact, the chair’s components come together very easily with the included set of screws. In just 15 minutes or so, the X-4 Leather Executive that X-Chair sent me was put together and ready to adjust for my own needs.

The X-Chair X-4 Offers an Incredible Lounging and Work Experience

Thanks to the Italian-made leather, the X-Chair X-4 brings much-needed comfort from head to bottom, especially with the adjustable headrest ($150 add-on). The standard cushioned foam seat brings long-lasting comfort and positioning, which alleviates stress on the body during gaming and work sessions. If desired, you can upgrade to memory foam for ultra-comfortable and responsible cushion that further reduces pressure. In addition, the seating width can be extended from 20.75″ to 21.75″ for $150. Regardless of the option chosen, the leather is bleach cleanable and remains incredibly soft, with an inviting texture.

Moreover, the X-4’s height-adjustable backrest allows you to raise the Dynamic Variable Lumbar (DVL) support to fit your back’s curve. Seat depth is also adjustable, giving you the opportunity to tailor your seating experience even further. The SciFloat Infinite Recline, along with Tilt Lock and Tension feature, lets you recline and lock the position or increase tension for more fluid movement. As a result, the chair has an impressive feature-set that emphasizes comfort and control.

Aside from the aforementioned headrest, customers can decided on which armrests to pick and whether to include ELEMAX cooling, heat, and massage capabilities. 4-dimensional armrests come included with the X-Chair X-4, but those needing a higher degree of range may upgrade to FS 360 rotational armrests. Personally, I believe the 4D armrests are just right while keeping the overall cost near the $1400 mark.

In terms of ELEMAX, I opted to not use it, since I normally take breaks and stretch throughout the workday. ELEMAX will certainly alleviate back stress and add some coziness to an already comfortable chair. Typically, the ELEMAX add-on is $150 MSRP, but sales and other bundles usually make this a free addition. A X-HMT heat and massage is also available as a cheaper option at $100, without cooling.

The X-4 is a Cozy Investment

After more than three weeks of use, it’s clear that the X-4 chair will be here for the long haul, and my overall posture and seating experience has been improved. The seat itself shifts and adjusts to my weight, and it makes hours of writing feel like a breeze, since the seat’s comfort boosts my overall productivity at my desk. The DVL support helped me realize the importance of my seating posture, especially.

The $1400+ price range can be out of the budget for many gamers, which is the only real downside of the X-4 chair. Without question, the X-4 is a premium option for home offices and corporate offices alike, giving workers the back support and comfort to get them through their tasks. The lower-cost Mavix lineup of gaming chairs is a great alternative, but those who decide to go with the X-4 will still be treated to luxury at a fair cost for what’s included.

I certainly recommend the X-4 to those wanting to add the definitive touch to their workspace, seating-wise. The comfort and support provided by this chair is just as advertised by X-Chair, and it will continue to be a critical part of my own workspace for years to come.
