During a recent showcase, THQ Nordic recently teased a new entry in the Darksiders franchise. Little details are known, other than the tagline “be prepared to ride again.”
The Darksiders franchise focuses on the four horseman of the apocalypse: War, Death, Fury, and Strife. The initial game, released in 2010, focused on War. In 2012, the sequel released, focused on Death. After a long hiatus, Darksiders III released in 2018, focused on Fury. While a spin-off top-down action game released in 2019, titled Genesis, there has not been a new mainline entry in six years. It is unknown if the new game will be Darksiders IV or another spin-off.
Darksiders IV Hinted at in New Teaser Trailer
In a surprising announcement, THQ Nordic has announced that new entry in the Darksiders franchise is in development. The trailer hints at the return of the antagonists, the Charred Council. Further, it comes with a tagline: “Be prepared to ride again.” It is currently unknown if this new game will be Darksiders IV or a follow-up to Darksiders Genesis. However, it is likely that the new game will focus on the currently unexplored fourth horseman: Strife.
