In a recent blog post, Xbox announced their Gamescom 2024 presence. The post hints at what games will be playable and shown off.
Xbox has been the subject of much discussion in the past year. On the one hand, they have held massively successful conferences dedicated to games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Doom: The Dark Ages, Perfect Dark, and Gears of War: E-Day. On the other hand, they’ve laid off 1,900 employees, shuttered companies like Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin, and hinted at upping the price of Game Pass Ultimate. After three months, we now know that this trend is not showing any sign of stopping.
Xbox Reveals Gamescom 2024 Plans, Including Playable Games on the Show Floor
In a recent blog post on their Xbox Wire website, the company revealed what to expect from their presence during the next iteration of Gamescom. Attendees will be able to go hands-on with games such as Age of Mythology: Retold, Ara: History Untold, Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, Fallout 76: Milepost Zero, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, and Towerborne. Additionally, there will also be theater presentations for Avowed, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and the upcoming Starfield expansion, Shattered Space.
Additionally, their booth will include games from their third-party partners such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Star Wars Outlaws, and more. The booth will open on August 22 and will be available during select times until August 25.
Gamescom 2024 will officially begin with Opening Night Live on August 20 at 2 PM EDT/11 AM PDT. Several other companies will likely reveal their plans for the event in the coming days and weeks.
