    Producer Nobuhiko Suzuki is pleased.

The Super Monkey Ball series has surpassed five million copies sold worldwide, according to a new Famitsu interview with Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble producer Nobuhiko Suzuki. Suzuki appears to be pleased that Super Monkey Ball has sold so many copies over the years, as the series resonates with many fans outside of Japan.

The latest game in the series, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, launched on June 25 as a Nintendo Switch timed exclusive. It’s unclear how much the game has sold so far, but it will surely help the Super Monkey Ball series reach its next sales milestone. The game’s latest update, version 1.10, added the new Sky Highway race stage and made various balance adjustments.

Post-launch support will continue well into fall 2024 with the SEGA Pass, which is available for $24.99 featuring the Sonic Team DLC, the Jet Set Radio DLC, and the Crazy Taxi DLC. The SEGA Pass includes 15 customization items based on characters from other SEGA IPs, including Shadow from Sonic the Hedgehog, Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter, and Goro Majima from Like a Dragon. The Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99) already includes the SEGA Pass.
