An anime movie adaptation for SEGA and Colorful Palette’s mobile rhythm game Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage / Project Sekai: Colorful Stage will premiere on January 17, 2025 in Japan. The movie’s title is Project SEKAI the Movie: Kowareta SEKAI to Utaenai MIKU.
The new Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage movie will feature an original story with a Hatsune Miku that’s not depicted in the mobile game. A story synopsis for the new film was provided, alongside a new key visual.

“Tell me about yourself. Maybe then I’ll understand the song.”
Ichika Hoshino heard a Miku song she never heard before at a CD shop. On the monitor, she saw a Miku she had never seen, and unintentionally blurted “Miku!?” out loud. Surprised by her voice, Miku’s eyes meet with Ichika’s, but she disappeared soon after.
Several days later, the Miku she had previously encountered appears on Ichika’s smartphone after a music performance on the street. Miku sadly hung her head, and when Ichika gently asked her about it, Miku told her that she wants to reach people with her song, but no matter how much she sings, her songs never reach anyone.
Seeing Ichika sing and reach the hearts of many during her own performances, Miku thought that she could do the same if she got to know her, and so she came to Ichika. Ichika smiles and responds to Miku’s wish with, “If you think I’m good enough,” and thus begins a new Hatsune Miku story with the youth.
