Sony Interactive Entertainment and Koei Tecmo announced a free demo of Team Ninja’s action adventure game Rise of the Ronin is now available for PlayStation 5, with save data transfers to the full game. A new trailer for the game was also released with a breakdown of player data.
“After collating player data, we realized that many of you around the world have been enjoying Rise of the Ronin,” producer Fumihiko Yasuda said at PlayStation Blog. “For those who have already completed the first playthrough, we hope you will continue to enjoy the game by seeing alternate paths when accessing the Testament of the Soul, or when challenging yourself through higher difficulty settings and Midnight.”
Yasuda continued, “A free playable demo of Rise of the Ronin is now available for download on the PlayStation Store. You can enjoy the battle with Gonzo, which was mentioned at the beginning of the article, and your save data can be carried over to the full game. For those of you who have not yet played Rise of the Ronin, we encourage you to explore its vast and beautiful world.”

Rise of the Ronin was announced during the September 2022 State of Play, surprisingly many fans around the world. The game’s March 22, 2024 release date was revealed at The Game Awards 2023 alongside a new trailer. Post-launch support is ramping up now, nearly two months after the game’s release.
Rise of the Ronin previously received a free update this past May with five new Ally Missions, two new Set Bonuses added to Midnight difficulty, various gameplay improvements, and much more.
Lastly, Rise of the Ronin is available now exclusively for PlayStation 5. A PC version has not been announced.
