Devolver Digital has revealed a new roguelite titled Forestrike. The game is available to wishlist now on Steam.
Devolver Digital is a beloved indie company known for some of the best creations over the past few years. This includes Hotline Miami, Return to Monkey Island, Cult of the Lamb, Katana Zero, and more. Starting in E3 2017, Devolver held annual short conferences that served as both a way to reveal their upcoming gaming lineup, as well as comedic parody skits that poked fun at the gaming industry’s many missteps and greedy practices over the last few years. During their 2024 conference, they revealed games such as Tenjetsu and Possessor(s).
Forestrike Revealed, Available to Wishlist Now on Steam
Devolver Digital has revealed a new game titled Forestrike. The upcoming release is a new roguelite with a unique twist. The Steam page describes it as follows:
Forestrike is a tactical kung fu game where repetition is the key to success.
As a martial artist, named Yu, you embark on a journey across the country to free the Emperor from an evil Admiral’s influence. Adopting techniques from one of five unique Masters, each battle presents a puzzle that must be solved using your mind as well as your fists.
Yu encounters many foes on his path to the capital, and he is always outnumbered, but he has a secret weapon: the Foresight, a meditative technique that allows him to mentally perceive fights over and over until he finds a sequence of movements that allows him to overcome the odds.
Once ready, our hero must fight in reality, where losing means starting everything over, but progress is permanent. Winning doesn’t always mean he will emerge from each encounter unscathed, but the further he travels, the stronger he will become.
