Mortal Kombat 1 Year 2 Panel Announced for SDCC 2024

The next wave of fighters is set to be revealed.

    Published:

Today, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios announced a Mortal Kombat 1 San Diego Comic-Con 2024 panel titled ‘Mortal Kombat 1 – Year 2’. The panel will air on Friday, July 26, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM PST.

This panel will focus on the second year of Mortal Kombat 1 support, following the conclusion of the first Kombat Pack. As for what this could include, we do have some ideas. Notable data miner and leaker interloko revealed the following characters are set to appear as the next wave of DLC in Mortal Kombat 1:

    • Conan the Barbarian
    • Cyrax
    • Ghostface
    • Noob Saibot
    • Sektor
    • T-1000

It’s unclear at this time if this is the entirety of Kombat Pack 2 or if these characters will gradually release throughout the rest of Mortal Kombat 1 Year 2. It’s likely that this is indeed Kombat Pack 2, with the possibility of a story DLC as well. Mortal Kombat 11 first saw a Kombat Pack with six characters, followed by the Aftermath expansion. This DLC provided a new story for the first time in series history. Ed Boon has already confirmed more story DLC is coming, so it is only a matter of when at this point.

Takeda is set to release on July 23, just three days before this panel begins. Regardless of whatever the team at NetherRealm decides to reveal, we’ll be sure to keep you updated with our San Diego Comic-Con coverage.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
