The Seven Deadly Sins: Idle Adventure Preview – A Casual Anime Quest

Netmarble's next take on The Seven Deadly Sins.

The Seven Deadly Sins anime series is back with a new game adaptation that’s different from the norm while still retaining the charm that fans expect. This new game adaptation is The Seven Deadly Sins: Idle Adventure, a new mobile RPG that gives players a very hands-off approach for combat. Beloved characters from the series, including Meliodas and Elizabeth, are back as cute chibis with the desire to make the Boar Hat tavern the best it can be.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Idle Adventure is aptly described as “bite-sized,” since it’s a smaller title based on the systems introduced in the highly successful mobile RPG, The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross. This new idle RPG lets Meliodas and his crew of characters (Heroes), which can be summoned from various gacha draws, freely adventure and fight enemies in the field. As they fight, players may use the One-Tap Draw feature on their Tavern board to test their luck and gain rewards, including coins and summon tickets, in a slot machine-like manner.

While playing The Seven Deadly Sins: Idle Adventure, the game’s story unfolds by completing stages and defeating bosses. Each stage is unlocked by defeating a certain amount of enemies and tapping the encounter orb. This process repeats itself, and players may toggle an auto mode to just go through the motions with minimal participation. On the surface, the game doesn’t offer much in terms of actual gameplay, but there’s a lot of features and content that make it an RPG all the same.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Idle Adventure is As Easygoing As it Gets

It becomes quickly apparent that The Seven Deadly Sins: Idle Adventure is an extremely easy and rewarding game. From the very start, the game gives plenty of resources for players to build a powerful party of characters and upgrade their abilities. Many of the resources come from completing stages and objectives in the main story, which is told in chapters.

The One-Tap Draw feature is especially rewarding, as players are able to multiply the rewards they gain by using more Draw Power. Moreover, the board containing the One-Tap Draw mechanism will accrue rewards as Tavern Revenue, giving the player a huge payout for their time spent in and out of the game. These rewards can be increased even further by upgrading the tavern and watching quick ads. Fortunately, ads are not intrusive in the game, as its just an option that can be used to gain additional and optional rewards.

The preview build included a launch celebration event and daily login bonus campaign, so there were plenty of incentives every day, alongside clearing stages. After upgrading my party and board, I felt ready to take on some of the optional dungeons and content. Although combat is relatively hands-off and easy, I did occasionally grind to complete more difficult content and level up my party.

The game’s simple approach extends to its Hero upgrade system, which only requires XP and a few other materials to level characters up and unlock their potential. A major of the game’s features and modes are unlocked by stage 300, and the journey to that point is stress-free since it can run on auto-pilot. Those wanting a deeper gameplay experience may want to check out The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross instead.

A Rewarding and Casual Experience for Fans

In short, The Seven Deadly Sins: Idle Adventure is a fun and simple game that lets players manage their party of favorite characters and build their tavern. Fans of the anime will likely have a lot of fun in the full game when it launches in the near future. Much of the enjoyment comes from an easygoing user experience set within the world of The Seven Deadly Sins, so newcomers might be encouraged to check out the anime before proceeding further with their playthrough.
